Team Wellbeing: Mini Movement Breaks

At Davy Partners, we’re often helping businesses through the tricky people things, they’re usually more overt, and generally more ‘urgent’.
But we’re just as passionate about the positive people things, ensuring the team and culture bolstering activity doesn’t get lost in the flurry.
It can be easy for team connection and wellbeing to fall off the list, and when your mind is on other things, it can be hard to get creative in this space. We’re sharing 2 simple wellbeing ideas to support your team.
Did you know movement has been proven to boost your mood and energy? These simple activities are perfect for a mid-year reset, or anytime of year your team needs a break and a recharge.
Mini Movement Breaks
Encourage your team to take regular movement breaks by sharing a quick 2-minute stretch routine. Make it printable by creating desk cards or office posters with a little wellbeing reminder and the QR code that the team can easily access and use. Or, if you’re remote or hybrid, share the link via your team comms channel.

These micro-breaks can go a long way in supporting physical and mental wellbeing. You might want to set a time to do it together throughout the week, or use it as a great way to kick off an afternoon meeting to reset energy levels and beat the afternoon slump.
Team Challenge | Take 5 Outside
Yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Take 5 minutes out of your workday to step outside, grab some fresh air, touch some grass, or pat a dog. Whatever takes your fancy. This activity works for in-office teams, remote teams, or hybrid workplaces.
It’s such a simple way to reset, and it’s easy to forget how much a little fresh air and vitamin D can help.
Activity tips
- Encourage your team to share a photo or a quick message in a team chat or designated channel.
- Kick it off as a leader, share your own “Take 5” first
- Consider making it a monthly or quarterly team competition or wellbeing ritual
We even tried this one ourselves!
Like many businesses we support, the Davy team works hybrid, some days in the office, some from home, and others out at client sites. The great thing about this little activity is that no matter where you are, you can step away and take a moment for yourself.
And we’ve loved how this one has helped us stay connected as a team during the week, wherever we’re working. We’ve been reminding each other in our team chat and sharing plenty of selfies, pet pics, and scenic coffee break snaps along the way.
Promoting wellbeing for your team doesn’t have to be a big initiative. Sometimes it’s as simple as a 5-minute reset.
